My Current Workout Regimen

Most of my workouts are completed at the gym after work. I used to be an early morning riser, but I just can't anymore. I'm thinking it's because it is sooo cold out in the morning and it is so hard to get out of a warm bed. Working out has been tough for me this past year. Grad school took a huge toll on my energy levels and so has my new job. I've been making sure I take time to rest while also scheduling time to exercise. My goal is 4 workouts per week. I used to be a chronic exerciser and that was miserable. I worked out sooo much (7+ times per week) because I had an unhealthy relationship with food. Check out my eating with freedom post for more on that story. I've cut myself some slack these days and have learned to maintain my weight mostly by clean (and tasty!) eating rather than binge exercising.

I am more into high intensity workouts to get the most bang for my buck at the gym. I do not have the time (nor the desire) like I used to to spend hours upon hours in the gym.

Warm-Up:
3/4 mile run. 1.5 incline on treadmill. 7.3mph

Core Cardio Workout:
30 min on Stair-master. FatBurner Setting. Level 11
15 min cool down

Post-Cardio- Resistance and Strength Training:
3x10 reps of Burpees
3 x20 reps with battle ropes alternating arms
3x20 reps of battle ropes using both arms in up and down motion at same time

Tall Workout Gear:
Old Navy

Steps of the Burpee:
These are EXCELLENT. Will tone pretty much your whole body: core, glutes, arms, shoulders...My sister kicked my butt doing these. I hate to admit that I could not keep up with her! She was always 2 reps ahead #motivation

The jump helps give you momentum to push forward into the plank position

Battle Ropes
These bad boys will have your arms whipped!!

  2. I do burpees, but I never thought to start it with a jump! I may incorporate that!
